El Paso’s Favorite Party Band Brings the Holidays to Life with Disco, Magic, and Merriment on December 13th 7pm, at the Sun City Theatre, in El Paso TX.

A Very Mungle Christmas is a musical spectacular written and produced by El Paso’s favorite entertainers,

Fungi Mungle.

Inspired by a conversation between Joey Mungle and KLAQ’s Brad Dubow, It was written in the spirit of A Prairie Home Companion. The spectacular has endearing skits that Joey Mungle jokingly admits are really just an excuse to play some really great Christmas music with a 20 piece orchestra.

Dubow says he’s “excited to see something sprouting from seed and growing into one of El Paso‘s premier Christmas traditions, for many years to come.”

Come ride along with Fungi Mungle as they take you through a musical journey of Christmas fun. The band is blending their iconic party vibe with the magic of the holidays for a show that promises fun for all ages.

A Very Mungle Christmas will take fans on a festive musical journey “down Santa Claus Lane” like only Fungi Mungle can do.

MEET THE MUNGLES

Joey Mungle

Vocals - Creative Director Joey founded the group in 1996. Joey Mungles' four octave range was classically trained under the guidance of Lazzaro Ferrari. He owns a world renowned custom footwear company (CABOOTS). His cliente includes prominent musicians, CEO's, Cirque du Soleil and Disney.

David Hamilton

Bass - B Vocal - Bad ass dude David is a bassist, cellist, vocalist, composer and recording Artist. He's worked with Bobby Rock, Mark Slaughter, Drifters, Coasters, Platters and Marvelets. He's the Music Director at Da Vinci School and music co-ordinator at Burnhamwood district. Catch this Worship leader on Sundays at The Ridge Methodist Church. He recieved his music degree from University of Texas at El Paso.

Gil Mata

Guitars - B Vocals - Musical Director Gil is a multi instrumentalist, but his primary instrument is guitar. He is regularly called upon by touring theater productions. Gil heads the music department at Hanks High School, in 2019 he was recognized as teacher of the year. He can play any style of music. Mr. Mata has a degree in Music from the Univeristy of Texas at El Paso.

Charlie Perez

Keyboards - B Vocals - Charlie can play just about any instrument (Keyboards, accordian harmonica, trumpet, french horn, sax, guitar, bass, drums, congas, violin, quatro). He's toured with major tejano bands. By day he's a Behavior Specialist/Threat Assessor with the Ysleta School district. His mentor (his dad) recorded and toured with Vicente Fernandez and Juan Gabriel

Jamey Rupley

Drums - Hugs - Punch lines Jamey is the heartbeat and lead punster of the Mungles. His extavagant drum sets are the center piece of all Fungi shows (he hand builds them himself). His marketing company has kept the group looking top notch for the past two + decades. His latest enterprise is Downshift Brewery in Ruidoso NM.
